This note is to inform those interested that Rondout will be having a Summer Soccer Skills Camp starting Monday August 4 thru Friday August 8th, 2008.  This is a co-ed camp and will be held at the Rondout H.S. field starting at 5pm and go until 8pm.  This is a wonderful camp that promises to be fun and enhance ones skills.

Vassar College will be hosting, in conjunction with Middlepath FC, a NSCAA National Diploma on June 13,14,15,- 20,21,22. This course is unique in the fact that it runs during two back to back weekends instead of the regular week long course. The course was designed to offer the working person the opportunity to increase their soccer knowledge with out having to take off from work, use sick time or be away from their family for a week. Application is attached.

USSF ENTRY-LEVEL (GRADE 8) REFEREE COURSE

When:     April 4, 5, 11 and 12, 2008

Times:     Fridays: April 4 & 11: 7:00 pm – 10 pm

               Saturdays: April 5 & 12: 9 am – 4 pm 

Where:  Highland Fire Station, Community Room, 25 Milton Ave, Highland, NY

The Entry Level Referee Course (Level 8) is being sponsored by the Highland United Soccer Club.  This is an 18 hour course which concludes with a 100 question 
multiple-choice test.  To become certified, each candidate must attend all sessions and correctly answer 75 of 100 multiple-choice questions.   
You must be at least 13 years of age to take the course.

If you miss any of the sessions you may not take the exam; you will need to take the missing session(s) and exam at a subsequent course. 

There is no additional fee.  If you fail the exam, you may arrange to re-take the exam at a subsequent course; there is no additional fee.

We need at least 15 people to hold the class and class size is limited to 30.

Course materials are provided, but please bring pencil/pen, paper, and your own beverages, snacks or lunch.

Fee:         For the class: $80

               If you are retaking the class/test after previously failing: No Charge

ENYYSA TO CONDUCT F LICENSE COURSE IN MANHATTAN FEB. 23-24

ENYYSA will conduct an F License coaching course course In Manhattan Feb. 23-24. The course will be held at the Field House at Chelsea Piers in downtown Manhattan. The Saturday session will run from 4-10 p.m. That includes two hours of classroom (4-6 p.m.) and four hours of court time (6-10 p.m.). The Sunday part will run from 6-10 p.m. That includes two hours of classroom and two hours of court time. 

Cost for the course is $85.

An entry level Referee Course (Grade 8) will be held 12/8 and 9 (9am to 3:30pm) and 12/15 (12:30 to 7:00pm) at Munger Cottage in Cornwall, NY.

N O T I C E

Eastern New York (ENYYSA) has announced new criteria for its' Olympic Development Program (ODP).

Both boy and girl players born in 1996 will tryout, train and compete in regional locations (districts) based upon the league they are registered with.  Players registered in Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League (HVYSL) will be combined with players from Counties United (Rockland Co) to form one boy's team and one girl's team.  Other teams being formed in ENYYSA will be located in NYC, Albany, Brooklyn, Dutchess and Putnam Counties, Long Island, Westchester and two open teams.  Each team will consist of 25-30 players who will be selected in the fall, train during the winter and spring and compete during the spring and summer.  The remainder of the ENYYSA ODP players born in 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992, and 1991 will continue to be selected and trained for one team in the north and one team in the south. 

 Complete details of try out dates and locations will be announced in the near future.

THE SOCCER ACADEMY, LEAD BY THE LEAGUE'S HEAD COACH, JIM JORGENSEN, WILL BE MEETING EVERY WEDNESDAY EVENING AT MEADOW HILL SCHOOL, FROM 5:30PM - 7:00PM.  THIS TRAINING PROGRAM IS FOR ALL PLAYERS, AGES U10 -U14 (BUT ANYONE IS INVITED), AND WILL RUN FOR SIX CONSECUTIVE WEEKS.
